For most people, driving life starts in a small car, with the Nissan Micra one of the most popular choices over the past three decades.
Nissan has sold bucketloads on the premise of it being cheap and easy to drive. But this latest version is different; it’s gone upmarket, with the promise of a sportier drive and posher interior in an effort to attract people downsizing from larger cars.
At the moment, buyers can choose from a turbocharged 0.9-litre petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel, although a cheaper, naturally aspirated 1.0-litre petrol will follow later.
So, is the Micra now a better choice than rivals such as the Ford Fiesta, Skoda Fabia and Volkswagen Polo? Read on for everything you need to know, including which versions make most sense and the options we think worth considering.
MICRA MADE BY SOCIAL
What better way to show off the All New Nissan Micra’s incredible range of personalisation options than to invite our Facebook fans to create their own very special Micra? We created Facebook Live streams from our factory in France, presented by the one and only Wheeler Dealers duo, allowing fans to vote for their favourite body and interior colours as well as exterior personalisation finishing. The result? A Micra that’s personalised by the people.
